This most famous extinct animal is the natural spokesperson for our collection of endangered species teapot figurines. The Dodo was a large ungainly bird weighing up to 55 pounds. Because he had no natural predators in his native Mauritius he eventually lost the ability to fly. After 200 years of co-existence with man the last reported Dodo was killed in 1681.
